Master of Science in Hospitality Management

Design and implement authentic, unique experiences with the Master of Science in Hospitality Management in Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management. Develop a service-dominant perspective that strikes a balance between practical management techniques and the personal touches that define the hospitality industry.

The Hospitality Management MS curriculum emphasizes the core management principles and theoretical foundations of the hospitality industry. Through industry-backed coursework, you’ll study an array of diverse concepts, including consumer behavior, hospitality law and tourism trends. In addition, all students complete a hands-on consulting project for which they analyze real business problems and recommend appropriate actions for client organizations in the greater Philadelphia region. You’ll gain real-world experience in a city at the forefront of the industry.

All courses in this master’s degree program are offered after 5 p.m. at Temple’s Main Campus, allowing you to complete coursework while working professionally. You’ll also have access to job counseling services so you graduate with the skills needed to become an expert manager, marketer or planner within the global, thriving hospitality industry.

Classes & Curriculum

As a Hospitality Management MS student, you’ll complete required core coursework, as well as coursework specific to your concentration.

Required courses include

  • Service Industry Analytics;
  • Strategic Tourism and Hospitality Marketing;
  • Service Experience Design; and
  • Tourism and Hospitality Management Consulting Project.

In keeping with Temple’s commitment to access and affordability, this Master of Science offers a competitive level of tuition with multiple opportunities for financial support.

Tuition rates are set annually by the university and are affected by multiple factors, including program degree level (undergraduate or graduate), course load (full- or part-time), in-state or out-of-state residency, and more. These tuition costs apply to the 2023–2024 academic year.

Pennsylvania resident: $956.00 per credit
Out-of-state: $1,100.00 per credit
